Activites in Blouberg, Cape Town
Within a few minutes walk of the house is the wonderfully long stretch of Blaaubergstrand beach, surfer, kite surfer and beach lover's paradise!
Dig your toes into the cool, soft sand as waves lap gently at your feet or walk for hours if you wish along the vast length of beach, drinking in the majestic sight of Table Mountain viewed over the expanse of the bay.
Or merely sit back and lap up the sun while watching the long rod shore fisherman as seagulls and comorants swoop and dive above the rocks, you may even get lucky and see a Cape fur seal playfully surfing a wave right in front of you!
Build a fun sandcastle with your family then console the heartbroken as the upcoming tide devours your creation but you can happily wipe those tears away as tomorrow you can build another, your holiday home is only 5 minutes away!
Write your lover's name in huge letters in the sand, create fabulous pictures with seaweed and shells and marvel at your fresh footprints, the first it seems on virgin sand created by the wash of a wave.
Go surfing, if you don't have a board you can hire one around the corner. Try kite surfing, lessons and kit available just across the way. You can even swim but this is not for the feint hearted, the water is cold and the current strong, so rather do this at Big Bag a few minutes away where there are life guards and gentler waves.
At Eden on the Bay is a long stretch of restaurants offering many different cuisines, take your pick to enjoy a fine dinner or simply sit and indulge your senses in the magnificent sunset while sipping on a cocktail or ten!
Try a picnic on the grass lawn below the eateries while watching the crashing waves and brave surfers, even do this right on the beach itself. Buy your tasty eats from the conveniently situated supermarket and deli in the complex or shop for home, you could purchase some delicious free range Karoo lamb cutlets and take them back to barbecue to sizzling perfection at your private indoor built in 'braai' just minutes away at your lovely holiday home!
